Ping measures the time it takes for game data to travel from your console or PC to the EA SPORTS FC™ game data center and back.Lower ping means faster data transfer and a more responsive gameplay experience.High ping can cause delays between pressing a button and seeing the corresponding in-game action. This is sometimes referred to as latency. At very high ping levels, you may see visual lag or be disconnected from your match.
How does ping affect The Grounds?
High ping can be less noticeable while you’re exploring The Grounds than during a match.Players don’t collide with each other while you’re moving around the world, so small delays may have less impact on your movement. High latency can still affect how smoothly you see other players moving around your world.Ping becomes more important when you join a match, where it can have a more direct impact on gameplay responsiveness.
Playing with friends in other regions
If you join friends who are in another region or use a different ping site, the game may place your group in a Grounds world that isn’t the ideal connection for everyone. This can result in higher ping for some players. If you notice higher ping when playing with friends in another region, try playing separately and compare your Connection Quality.
Can I choose my ping or region in The Grounds?
No. You can’t manually choose a Grounds server, lock your region, or set a maximum ping. The game aims to place you in a Grounds world that best fits your region and ping site.
