Learn how Relationship, Career, and Hobby Stories work in The Sims Mobile.
What are Stories in The Sims Mobile?
Stories help guide your Sim through different phases of their lives. They’re a great way to give your Sims unique experiences, depending on the type of Stories you choose for them.There are three categories of Stories in The Sims Mobile.- Relationship Stories: Help your Sim make friends, find their soulmate, or go head-to-head with a rival.
- Career Stories: Enhance your Sim’s professional growth and develop their career.
- Hobby Stories: Explore your Sim’s creative side through their chosen hobby.
Here are some helpful things to know about Stories and how they work.
- Each Story category (Relationship, Career, and Hobby) has several Stories to choose from.
- The Stories you can play depend on your Player Level. As your Sim levels up, you’ll unlock more Story options.
- Available Stories also depend on the Career or Hobby you choose and the actions your Sims takes in-game.
- All Stories are made up of several Chapters.
- You progress through Chapters by taking part in and completing Events.
- You need to finish every Chapter to complete the Story.
- Completing a Story unlocks rewards for your household.
To check your Sim’s active Stories and progress, follow these steps.
- 1From the left corner of your screen, select the Info Panel icon (an outline of a person with a Plumbob).
- 2Select the Stories tab. You’ll find details of all active Stories here.
- To learn more about all playable Stories by category, select the All Stories button and navigate between the Relationship, Career, and Hobby tabs.
What are Relationship Stories in The Sims Mobile?
Once you build a relationship with another Sim and choose to start a Relationship Story with them, the type of Story can’t change. For example, if you start a Friendship Story with a Sim, you can’t begin a Romance Story with them at a later stage. Choose carefully when deciding what type of Relationship Story to tell.
When your Sim reaches a certain relationship level with another Sim, you can start one of the following Relationship Stories with them: If your Sim has an in-game sibling, you may be able to start a Family Story. This will depend on the sibling’s relationship type.
- Romance Stories
- Friendship Stories
- Rivalary Stories.
Depending on the Relationship Story you want to tell, you might need to have a specific Relationship Level with another Sim before starting a Story with them. Follow these steps to check your Relationship Level with the Sim you want to start a Relationship Story with.The green progress bar next to the Relationship Level number shows you how close you are to reaching the next Relationship Level with this Sim. If you don’t see a Relationship Level or progress bar under the Sim’s profile picture, it means your relationship with them hasn’t reached Level 1 yet.
- 1From the left corner of your screen, select the Info Panel icon (an outline of a person with a Plumbob).
- 2Choose the Contacts tab and find the Sim you want to start a Story with.
- 3Your Relationship Level with the Sim will be displayed by a number under their profile picture.
When you’ve built your relationship with another Sim up enough to unlock Stories, here’s how to start one.
- 1If the Sim you want to start a Relationship Story with isn’t at your Sim’s location, you’ll need to call them over first.
- From the left corner of your screen, select the Info Panel icon (an outline of a person with a Plumbob).
- Choose the Contacts tab.
- Find the Sim you want to start a Story with and select Socialize.
- 2Have your Sim interact with the Sim you want to start a Relationship Story with.
- 3From the interaction options, choose a Story. The Stories available will depend on the relationship type you’ve built with that Sim and your player level.
What are Career Stories in The Sims Mobile?
Before you can start a Career Story, pick a career for your Sim first.- 1Take your Sim to the Career’s work location on the map. For example, the work location of the Barista Career is the coffee shop in Parkside.
- 2Select the briefcase icon over the Career Workstation.
- 3Select a Career Story.
The Career Story available to you depends on the career you picked for your Sim. Some Career Stories won’t unlock unless you complete specific Events or Quests first. As your Sim climbs the career ladder, they’ll unlock new Story Chapters.Here’s a list of Career Story types, the career they’re linked to, and where you need to go to start the career.

What are Hobby Stories in The Sims Mobile?
Looking for something fun for your Sim to do in their spare time? In The Sims Mobile, there are six creative Hobbies to choose from.- Cooking.
- Guitar.
- Writing.
- Yoga.
- Piano.
- Internet Icon.
- Your playable Sims can only have one Hobby at a time.
- Every Hobby has one related Hobby Story.
- You need to be at a specific Player Level to unlock most Hobbies, but some require an Heirloom to unlock.
- All Hobbies have required Hobby Items that your Sim will need to get started.
To tell a Hobby Story, you have to unlock a Hobby first. Each hobby also has a required Hobby item that’s needed to begin. You can buy these Hobby Items with Simoleons or SimCash by selecting the Build/Buy icon (an armchair and a lamp) at the bottom right of your screen and scrolling to the Hobbies tab. Some Hobby Items are available only when you reach a specific Player Level.

How to unlock: Get the Antique Webcam HeirloomRequired Hobby Item: Fledgling Streamer StationHere’s how to start a Hobby Story.Since a Sim can only have one Hobby at a time, you can only tell one Hobby Story at a time. If you want to try a new Hobby, make sure you’ve reached the player level or have the Heirloom needed to unlock it. Then, buy the required Hobby item and repeat the steps above. When you start an Event using your new Hobby Item, your Hobby and Hobby Story changes.
- 1Once you’ve decided on a Hobby, place the related Hobby Item in your home.
- 2Select the Hobby Item and choose Start Event.
