How does progression work in Be a Pro?

Progression in Be a Pro is all about the choices you make, both on and off the ice. Your career path is shaped by your gameplay performance, how you manage your energy, your interactions with the media, and the relationships you build with key figures like your Coach, GM, and agent.You progress your career by completing challenges, performing well on the ice, developing your Pro, and making career choices.
  • Complete your challenges: Check theBe a Pro Hub to see your active challenges, track your progress, and find out what you need to do next. Challenges can give you specific career goals, such as reaching a target Form Score or completing objectives during games.
  • Perform on the ice: Your performance can affect your Form Score, lineup role, and the opportunities you get throughout your career. Strong performances can improve your Form Score, earn your Coach’s trust, and lead to promotions. A drop in Form Score can mean less ice time, a healthy scratch, or being sent to the AHL.
  • Develop your Pro: Balance development with recovery as your career progresses. Use Energy to manage your Health and training, earn Trait Points to unlock Traits in your Skill Trees, and upgrade your Attributes and X Factor abilities.
  • Choose your responses carefully: Your conversation choices influence your Team, Management, and Brand likeabilities and can give you new challenges. In some conversations, your Confidence, Influential, or Leader trait (which are determined by your first Media interview response) can also affect which responses are available to you. Learn how to create your Pro and get drafted in Be a Pro.

How do I improve my Pro?

Improve your Pro by managing their Energy and recovery, developing their Attributes, unlocking Traits in Skill Trees, and upgrading X Factor abilities. How you use these systems shapes your Pro’s development and performance throughout their career.
Energy is a resource you can spend on activities that support your Pro's Health and development, including Health, Skill Training, and X Factor Training.

How you use your Energy depends on whether your Pro needs to recover or you want to invest in their development. Keep your Pro ready to perform by balancing Energy, development, and recovery.
Check your Pro's Health before playing. Low Health can negatively affect Attributes and your on-ice performance, while higher Health can have positive impacts on Attributes. If your Pro needs to recover, spend Energy on Health before investing it elsewhere.
