Battlefield 4 Known Issues

We're actively investigating these issues. We'll provide updates and workarounds to these problems as they become available.

While storming across the battlefield you may run into an issue  that could interrupt your gameplay.

You may run in to these gameplay-affecting issues we’re currently tracking, but do not have workarounds for, when playing Battlefield 4.

We'll provide further updates, steps, or fixes on these issues as quickly as we can, while any and all steps or workarounds can be found in our Troubleshooting Info for Battlefield 4 article.

NOTE: If you're having an issue with a specific feature of Battlefield 4, you may find further info in another Battlefield 4 EA Help article, or in this Battlelog post tracking further issues and workarounds.

Details on patches and what's included in updates can be found on the Battlelog Battlefield 4 Control Room:

In-Game: All Platforms
  • Some players have reported that after saving in the single-player campaign and then restarting their game, their save does not exist and must start over.
In-Game: PC
  • To be proactive, always be sure you've updated your system, especially your graphics card's drivers, in order to ensure the best performance out of your gameplay--unless noted otherwise below. The most common cards are from NVIDIA and AMD, while you can find the specifics of your system by following these instructions.
  • Your game, or the game's title screen, may display in Fullscreen mode, even if you have windowed mode selected in your options.
  • You may experience a black screen when launching Battlefield 4 while using the Windows Aero theme  with DPI scaling set to 150% or 200%.
In-Game: Xbox
  • Restarting my Xbox resets my campaign progress
    • Some players have reported that their campaign progress is lost after restarting their Xbox during either a proper shutdown or the resetting of a multiplayer game.
  • "Missions" won't open when I select its option from the My Soldier menu on Xbox 360
    • Currently, when Xbox 360 players select Missions from the My Soldier menu in order to select challenges, the Mission menu does not open.
  • Battlefield 4 Xbox 360 and Commander App connection issue
    • We've received reports that Xbox 360 Battlefield 4 players, while using the BF4 Commander app on a mobile device, are unable to connect to the Xbox 360 Battlefield 4 game servers.
  • Xbox 360 multiple Battlepacks and Missing Items issues
    • Some players on Xbox 360 have reported receiving multiple Battlepacks, and then missing some of their unlock-items. 
    • We're currently investigating this issue and will provide updates as soon as possible. 
  • Battlefield 4 Premium Price Discrepancy
    • Currently the Xbox marketplace on Xbox 360 is displaying BF4 Premium as costing 4000 Microsoft Points instead of local currency. This will not affect the actual price of the game when you make the purchase you will be charged for the item in your local price depending on region.
In-Game: PlayStation
  • Vehicle shortcut kits not unlocking the correct items
    • Some PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 players have reported that their received Vehicle Shortcut Kits unlocked the incorrect items after redemption. Rest assured that we're aware of and investigating this issue.
  • PlayStation 4 and EA Account Linking Issue in Battlefield 4
    • We're aware that some PlayStation 4 Battlefield 4 players are having issues linking their PlayStation™Network account to their EA Account.
  • Why didn’t I get my pre-order Battlepacks in the EU?
    • We are aware that some PS4 players in the EU are not receiving their pre-order Battlepacks. We are currently investigating with Sony and are working to get players their packs as quickly as possible.
  • Infinite loading-screen after signing out of the PlayStation™Network
    • PlayStation players who sign out of, or are dropped by, the PlayStation™Network will become stuck at an infinite loading screen and must restart their game to continue.
  • PlayStation 4 and EA Account linking issue in Battlefield 4
    • We're aware that some PlayStation 4 Battlefield 4 players are having issues linking their PlayStation™Network account to their EA Account.
    • If you're unable to link your accounts, rest assured that we've identified the problem and are working to solve this issue as soon as possible.
Billing
  • Why do I have a purchase receipt/info that says "Warsaw:" followed by numbers?
    • Don't worry, this is simply your Battlefield 4 purchase under an alternate invoice-name.
    • So if you're looking for information, or are confused, about your purchase, it may be listed as "Warsaw:#####:#########."
  • Second Assault on the Xbox One in-game store has pricing listed for Premium Members
    • Battlefield 4 Premium players on the Xbox One will notice, when trying to download and install Second Assault following its release for non-Premium members on 12/10, that there is a price listed in the Battlefield 4 in-game store even though they're Premium members.
    • Rest assured that this is simply a display error, and that Second Assault content is available at no extra cost to Premium players.
    • Premium members downloading their Second Assault content through the Xbox LIVE Marketplace will correctly see their content available as "Free."
Battlelog
  • Battlelog Live Scoreboard not functioning or updating
    • The Battlelog Live Scoreboard has been temporarily disabled in order to correct a technical issue. This means the Live Scoreboard will be briefly inaccessible while we work to correct this problem.
  • Some Assignments not unlocking in Battlelog
    • We're aware of an issue preventing some Assignments from unlocking correctly in Battlelog. Rest assured that we're investigating this issue and will provide updates as soon as possible.
  • I receive the Battlelog Error “loadout save failed, duplicate items selected”
    • We are tracking an issue regarding players unable to change their loadouts using Battlelog. When trying to change any item and save their loadout, players receive the error message "loadout save failed duplicate items selected" 
    • These players are still able to change their loadout in-game without any Issue. 
    • DICE are investigating this issue and will provide updates as quickly as possible.
  • I'm told to buy Premium after clicking on the Premium Tab or the Premium emblems in Battelog, even though I'm a Premium member
    • Some Battlefield 4 Premium players are encountering their Battlefield Premium Membership not displaying or activating correctly in Battlelog, and are told to buy Premium when trying to access Premium features.
    • If you're unable to access your Premium content and perks through Battlelog, rest assured that you are able to access your Premium Dog Tags, Premium Battlepacks, and any other Premium content in-game.
Battlepacks
  • Xbox 360 multiple Battlepacks and Missing Items issues
    • Some players on Xbox 360 have reported receiving multiple Battlepacks, and then missing some of their unlock-items.
