Get started in Command & Conquer: Rivals

Command & Conquer is making its debut on mobile with Rivals: a head-to-head, RTS (real-time strategy) game.

Getting in your game

The tutorial will load when you open Rivals. You’ll learn game basics, like unit movement and missile capture points. Complete 5 battles during the tutorial to unlock all the game features.

What else happens when I start?
  • You’ll learn game tips like Upgrading Units, Training, Leveling Up, and editing decks for battle.

How does combat work?

You’ll cover combat basics in the tutorial, but you also need to know how to:

  • tap units to select them
  • tap the map to move your unit there
  • tap an enemy unit to attack it
  • tap and hold a building or unit to see more information about it.
How do I win?

Win by destroying the enemy base. This can be done my firing missiles and direct attack. If games don’t finish in 5 minutes, they’ll be draws. A 10-second timer pops up to let you know a draw is about to happen.

What can I do through the main menu?

Command & Conquer: Rivals main menu.

After you finish the tutorial you’ll head to the main menu. Here you can:

  • Upgrade
    • View all your units in the game for GDI and Nod. See which cards are available in your Crates and the player level you need to unlock them. Tap an individual unit to open the Unit Details dialog.
    • Get Credits to train Units. Each unit level has 3 training steps before its maxed out. As units level up, the cost for training steps go up. After you have completed all three training steps and have the correct number of cards, you can upgrade your Unit to the next level.
    • The number of cards to level up also varies by the rarity of the unit.
  • Bounties
    • You’ll get a set of 5 bounties to complete each day, but you can’t complete them in Alliance battles. You’ll earn Credits for each bounty you finish.
    • Finish 3 or more bounties to earn a bonus Crate. As you complete more bounties, the rarity of the Crate increases. Completing all five bounties will allow you to collect the Crate immediately.
  • Convoys and Free Crate
    • Earn FUEL for every PVP (player vs. player) match you play. You’ll earn 1 for a win and 0.5 for a loss. You can’t earn FUEL for alliance battles.
    • Use 1 FUEL to order Convoys by tapping Order Crate.
    • 1 additional FUEL can speed up the convoy arrival time by 4 hours.
    • You can also use Diamonds to rush the Convoy and instantly collect your Crate.
    • Collect a free Crate every 12 hours, with a max of 2 Crates stored when you haven’t logged in for 24 hours.
  • Alliances
    • Search for an Alliance to join or create your own. You get full access to the Alliance feature set when you join one.
    • Request cards for your Alliance every 8 hours, then donate cards to your Alliance to get Credits for every card you donate.
    • You can create or join a Friendly Battle from the Alliance menu.
  • C&C Network
    • Activity Feed allows you to stay up to date with your friends and Alliance members accomplishments and replays that they share.
    • With C&C TV, you can watch replays to learn strategies and deck designs from the top players in the game.
  • Store
    • 3 new cards show up in Daily Offers every day. Spend Credits to bolster your army, buy Crates for Diamonds, or convert Diamonds into more Credits.

Tell me more about game features

You can view:

  • Leaderboards
    • See the top 100 players and Alliances, filtered by GDI Medals, Nod Medals, and combined GDI and Nod Medals.
  • Friends List
    • Add friends to your Friends List through EA Origins, Facebook or directly in-game.
  • Battle Logs
    • See your last 10 battles, including Alliance-friendly battles. Tap Details to see both player units and the map. The details page also shows you replay of matches.
  • Inbox
    • See messages about upcoming game or balance changes, service and maintenance, and tips and information.
  • Settings
    • Explore sub-menus to learn more about the game, contact EA Help, and give feedback.

How do I back up my game data?

You can link your account to be sure you don’t lose access. Go to Settings, then Link Account, then Link to Email or Link to Facebook.

When you Link to Email, enter your email address then type in the code that was sent to you. Link your account through Facebook by signing in and letting C&C: R access your profile.
