What are abilities?

Abilities are enhancements that can help your players perform more effectively on the field.  Each ability focuses on a different part of the game and can provide additional benefits in specific areas. Some abilities can help quarterbacks make more accurate throws, receivers make catches, defenders break up passes, or ball carriers break tackles.Players on offense, defense, and special teams can have different abilities, and higher tiers provide stronger versions of the same effect.

Ability Tiers

  • Bronze
  • Silver
  • Gold
  • Platinum
  • Heisman
The higher the tier, the stronger the ability becomes. Skill Points (SP) can be used to unlock higher-tier abilities. They can also be used to unlock new abilities and additional ability slots.

Ability Categories

Different abilities are designed to help players in different areas of the game.

Offensive abilities

Passing abilities can help quarterbacks make more plays through the air.

Some passing abilities improve accuracy from the pocket, while others help when throwing on the run, under pressure, or outside the pocket.

Defensive abilities

Pass rush abilities help defenders disrupt plays before they have a chance to develop and make life more difficult for opposing quarterbacks.

Quick Jump, Duress, and Take Down help defenders create pressure, disrupt passing plays, and finish sacks before a quarterback can escape the pocket.

Special Teams abilities

Special Teams abilities can help turn kicking situations into scoring opportunities or field-position advantages.Different abilities focus on different parts of the kicking game, including kick power, accuracy, field goal range, and punt placement.Deep Range and Mega Leg can help extend the range of kicks, while Coffin Corner and Field Flip help teams control field position. Chip Shot and Clutch Kicker can help in situations where accuracy matters most.

Composure abilities

Composure abilities work differently from offensive, defensive, and Special Teams abilities.While most abilities affect actions on the field, Composure abilities help players deal with conditions around the game. This can include factors such as crowd noise, weather, confidence, and other game situations that can affect player performance.Look for Composure abilities if you want players who can stay effective when the pressure is on.
