How to confirm your age in Need for Speed

Effective March 2026, Brazil’s ECA Digital Law requires an age check for certain games. To access some content and features, players will need to:

    Log in to or create an EA Account.
  2. 2
    Confirm they’re 18 or older.
This applies to the EA app and some console and mobile games.Access to social features and user-generated content (UGC) in-game on the EA app will be restricted to adult accounts. These requirements apply only to players in Brazil and only to affected games. Learn more in our age check article.
For now, age checks apply only to Need for Speed: Payback, Need for Speed: Heat, and Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit.
You can start the age confirmation process in-game. If prompted in-game, follow these steps:

    Launch Need for Speed Payback. 
  2. 2
    Scan the QR code or visit start.ea.com and enter the unique code shown on your screen. 
  3. 3
    Carefully read the age check information, then select Start
  4. 4
    Once you’ve successfully confirmed your age, select Close or wait for your console to refresh.

    Scan the QR code or continue on your device.
  2. 2
    Carefully read the age check information, then select Start.

    Once you’ve successfully confirmed your age, select Close or Continue.

Need for Speed: Unbound

For under-18 players on the EA app, Steam, and other PC platforms, the following features will be disabled:
  • voice and text chat

Parental consent doesn’t automatically confirm an account as an adult. Without a confirmed age check, restrictions may still apply. Learn more about parental consent and age check impacts on child accounts.
