Do I need an EA Account to play Battlefield 6?

Can I try Battlefield 6 for free?

A Battlefield 6 free trial is available from October 15 to October 19, 2026 on PlayStation®, and Steam platforms.* It gives you full access to Battlefield 6, including all game modes, events, and Battlefield Portal.If you haven’t installed Battlefield REDSEC, Battlefield’s free-to-play experience**, you can find and download the free trial from your platform’s store. When the free trial ends, you’ll still have access to REDSEC.If you’ve already installed Battlefield REDSEC, there are a few ways you can access the Battlefield 6 free trial. If you use Steam, you can download a free edition from your platform’s store. Select Get Free Edition to download it and get full game access for the weekend. If you play on PlayStation®, you can: 
  • manage your files in-game
    • Go to your in-game Settings, then System > Install/Uninstall > Edit. 
    • Select Multiplayer and Campaign to install the game files you need.
  •  select a premium mode in Battlefield REDSEC. 
    • When you select a premium mode, you’ll be able to download the files you need to play the free trial.

How do I check my linked accounts?

Go to the Connections page in your EA Account settings to check what’s linked to your EA account. If your PlayStation®, XBOX, or Steam account isn’t there, you’re not linked.If you made your EA Account using the same email address you use for your console account, your accounts should automatically connect when your game loads on your console. Check your platform to learn how to link to your EA Account.
