Because combat in STAR WARS Zero Company™ is turn-based, you have time to plan each move before committing to it. Using that time to think beyond the current turn and plan ahead can help prevent mistakes or reduce the enemy’s options.Before ending your turn and letting the enemy retaliate, check that:
- each Operator is in a safe position
- no Operator is left exposed
- you’ve used each squad member's AP effectively
- that your squad is prepared for the enemy’s turn
- you have a plan for where enemies are likely to attack from.
Think about what each Operator needs to accomplish during their turn before sending their AP. Make every AP count and try to avoid spending them all on movement unless you have to.
- If an Operator uses too much AP getting into position, they may not have enough left to take action if they need to attack, use an ability, or set up Overwatch.

Advantage gives your squad access to special abilities that can have powerful combat effects.Understanding when to spend or save Advantage can help you have more success on the battlefield.Sometimes, it’s worth saving Advantage for a difficult fight. Other times, spending it early can help eliminate dangerous enemies before they become a threat.
As you bond with your squad, keeping them alive becomes just as important as defeating the enemy.A downed Operator can’t take any actions until another squad member rallies them. That means that until they’re back in the fight, your squad loses access to their abilities and equipment. If Permadeath is turned on, there’s also a risk they’ll be Killed in Action and permanently removed from your squad.To help protect your squad:

- Rally downed teammates as soon as it is safe to do so
