No, proximity chat is separate from and doesn’t limit squad chat. When you use proximity chat while in a squad:- you can hear your squad regardless of how far apart you are
- only your squad will hear you in squad chat
Why does proximity chat sound unclear?
Proximity chat audio behaves like real-world sound. It’s impacted by things like distance, direction, and your environment.- The closer you are to a player, the clearer they’ll sound.
- Barriers, like walls, obstacles, and vehicles, can make audio harder to hear.
- A vehicle’s driver will always sound clear to players outside the vehicle, but other vehicle crew won’t.
- Audio might sound different depending on the speaker’s direction.
You can change how distance and direction impact audio under Voice > Proximity Chat > Volume by Distance and Spatial Audio.
How do I adjust my voice settings in Battlefield REDSEC?
- 1Open the Settings menu.
- 2Select Audio from the list on the left of your screen.
- 3Under Voice, you can adjust your mic, sensitivity, and activation mode settings.
- Select your microphone next to Input Device.
- Adjust your microphone’s sensitivity next to Microphone Threshold.
- Choose how you want to input audio next to Microphone Mode.
- Push To Talk transmits audio when you push a particular button.
- Voice Activation transmits audio when your voice exceeds a volume threshold.
- Toggle To Talk will transmit audio when you press a button. Press again to stop.
