Do you need an EA Account to play Battlefield 6?

The right EA Account is whichever account you want your progress to be stored on.If you played the Battlefield 6 Beta or Battlefield 2042 Road to Battlefield 6, make sure you use the same EA Account.
How to check your platform links
If you made your EA Account using the same email address you use for your console account, your accounts should automatically connect when your game loads on your console. Go to the Connections page in your EA Account settings to check what’s linked. If your PlayStation®, Xbox, or Steam isn’t there, you’re not linked.Check your platform to learn how to link to your EA Account.Can’t access your linked Steam account? If your Steam account has been linked to your EA Account for more than 12 months, you can unlink and relink to a different EA account.Check the Steam tab for more info.

- Once you've unlinked your platform, you can't link it back to the same EA Account.
- You can't link another account from the same platform (like a second Xbox or PlayStation® account) to your EA Account, even if you've unlinked the first one.

Battlefield 6 and the EA app
Not all PC players need to use the EA app to play Battlefield.- If you’re playing on Steam, you don’t need to use the EA app, but you still need an EA Account.
- If you bought Battlefield 6 through the Epic Games Store, you need to use the EA app.
- EA Play Pro members also need to use the EA app.
