How to troubleshoot common EA Account linking issues
To help protect accounts, EA limits how often you can switch which platform account is linked to your EA Account. Some platforms only let you link to your EA Account once. Make sure to choose a platform account you’ll always have access to.
- Linked less than 1 year ago: Unlinking and relinking to a different account isn’t available yet. See if you can recover your existing account.
- Linked more than 1 year ago: You should be able to unlink and relink a different account. Learn how to unlink your account.
- Check the Connections page in your EA Account settings to see if you’ve already linked an account. Only one EA Account can be connected to a platform at a time.
- Try our steps to reset your EA Account password if you’re getting an invalid or ineligible account error.
- If you can’t log in or aren’t able to access the email used with your EA Account, find out how to get back into your account.
- You can create a new EA Account if you want to connect to a platform that you haven't played EA games on before.

If it’s been a while since you played an EA game, try logging in to your EA Account from your computer or mobile device.You might need to:Once you’ve signed in, restart your platform, and start your game. If you still can’t log in to your EA Account, contact us through the link in the footer.
- use one of your two-factor authentication (2FA) codes to sign in to your account.
- Try logging in to your EA Account to see if your platform account is already linked. You can’t link an EA Account to two PlayStation™Network IDs, for example.
- If your platform account is connected to an EA Account that you don't use, learn how you can update it.
- If you made a second EA Account with your primary email address, follow our steps to update the email on your preferred account.
- If you have multiple EA Accounts with games on them, contact us from the bottom of the page. Our advisors may be able to help combine your accounts. You’ll need to be able to access both accounts, and not everything will transfer over, like game progress.

- the email address on your EA Account
- any usernames or console IDs (e.g. Xbox Live Gamertags or PlayStation™ Network Online IDs) connected to your EA Account
- any invoice numbers from games you’ve bought from our store, or product codes for your games.
