Moola is the official virtual currency used in The Sims 4 Marketplace. You can use it to purchase Maker Packs and Kits directly in-game. This article explains what Moola is, where you can buy it, how to use it, and what to do if you run into issues with your balance or Marketplace content.
What is Moola?
Moola is the new virtual currency in The Sims 4. You’ll need Moola to buy Maker Packs and Kits from The Sims 4 Marketplace. Kits are available to buy on The Sims 4 Marketplace for Moola, you can also buy these with real-world currency on the EA App and Steam if you’re playing on PC or Mac.- Maker Packs can only be purchased with Moola.
- Kits can no longer be purchased from anywhere but the Marketplace or the EA App on PC and Mac.
- Expansion Packs, Game Packs, and Stuff Packs are also available in the Marketplace. These can only be purchased with real-world currency.
How to buy Moola
To purchase Moola, you must be above the minimum age guidelines in your country of residence. Any players with a teen account will need parental spending permission set up on their EA Account to purchase. So, if you buy Moola on PC/Mac, your Moola won’t be available if you then switch to playing on Xbox or PlayStation.

You can open the Marketplace at any time by selecting the shopping cart icon in the top right of Build Mode, Live Mode, or Create a Sim.
- 1Open the Marketplace at the top of the Main Menu.
- 2Select the Get Moola tab.
- 3Select the amount of Moola you want to buy.
- 4The EA app overlay will open.
- To turn on in-game overlay, open the EA app, go to Settings > Application, and then toggle in-game overlay on.
- 5Select a saved payment method or input a new payment method.
- 6Select Pay Now.
- 1Open the Marketplace at the top of the Main Menu.
- 2Select the Get Moola tab.
- 3Select the amount of Moola you want to buy.
- 4The EA app will open. Select a saved payment method or input a new payment method.

How to buy content on The Sims 4 Marketplace
First, you’ll need Moola in your Wallet. Follow the steps above to buy Moola on your preferred platform. Once you have Moola in your Wallet, you can buy content from the Marketplace, like Maker Packs and Kits. You can also buy Expansion Packs, Game Packs, and Stuff Packs in the Marketplace, but they can only be bought with real-world currency. You can filter your view in the Marketplace to only see Maker Packs, and then sort by Build/Buy and Create a Sim. To do this:- 1Open the Browse section of the Marketplace.
- 2Select Filters and choose what you’d like to see.
- 1Select the Maker Pack or Kit to open the product page. Review the product information and included contents.
- 2Select Buy With Moola.
- 3Confirm your selection and select Buy.
- 4In the confirmation pop-up, select Close.
Missing Moola
I can’t find my Moola
Bought Moola and now can’t find it? Try these steps first.- Check that you’re logged in to the correct EA Account.
- If your content has been sent to a different EA Account, we can’t transfer it.
- Restart your PC or Mac, launch The Sims 4, and check if your content is still missing.
- Check out The Sims Direct Communications on X for issues that might be preventing your missing content from appearing.
I can’t find the content I bought with my Moola
Can’t find the content you bought using Moola? Here are some steps you can try.- Select the My Collection tab and open Manage Storage to check if your content is installed.
- Open the game and narrow down your search by using the Maker Packs Filter in Build Mode and Create a Sim.
- Restart your PC, Mac, or console, launch The Sims 4, and check if your content is still missing.
- Check out The Sims 4 Direct Communications on X for issues that might be preventing your missing content from appearing.
- Check that you’re logged in to the correct EA Account.
- If you’re playing on console, make sure your console account is linked to your EA Account.

Moola purchased digitally through the in-game Marketplace or on platform storefronts can’t be gifted. You also can’t gift Items purchased with Moola.
To see how much Moola you have, check your Moola Wallet. Look for a gold coin icon at the top-right of your screen from the Main Menu and The Marketplace. Your Moola balance will be next to the coin. Not seeing the right amount? Follow the steps to find your missing Moola.
No, Moola can’t be transferred between platforms. If you purchase Moola on PC it can only be used on PC or Mac and not transferred if you also play on Xbox or PlayStation®.
